About The Film
Produced by Reel City Films and written and directed by Frank Kelly, "The Critic" is a romantic thriller that tells the story of Meghan Dupane (Julia Collier), a mystery hotel shopper who travels the globe to review luxury hotels incognito.
That is until her next assignment changes everything. After checking into The Biltmore Hotel for what appears to be another routine review, her stay quickly spirals into an adventure of a lifetime when she meets Jack Tupper (Nick Puya), a charming golfer who discovers her true identity and offers her a proposition she cannot refuse.
What begins as a reluctant encounter turns into a mysterious and romantic journey that ends with an unforgettable experience and a surprising reveal.

Director's Statement
As an audience member, there is nothing I enjoy more than watching a movie and getting swept away by a great story. To sit down and completely forget about the outside world is escapism at its best. I've realized that my all-time favorite films have two things in common, they've all stirred an emotion within and left a smile on my face by the time the credits rolled. Back to the Future, Goonies, Pretty Woman, Romancing the Stone, Star Wars and True Lies are just some of those movies.
As a director, I'm driven to generate that same feel-good emotion among my audience members and my hope is that 'The Critic' does just that for our viewers.
If the audience walks away from the film with a sense of hope and wonder, then I've done my job as a film maker.
